National leaders from French speaking associations develop management skills in Togo

The Seminar on Strategic Leadership for French speaking associations took place from 20 to 26 November in Togo. It was attended by fifteen key leaders from ten African countries. Participants looked at developing a vision, strategic planning and good management.

The participants came from the following countries: Benin, Burundi, Ivory Coast, Congo, Guinea, Madagascar, Central African Republic, Senegal, Chad and Togo.

As well as looking at the strategic direction for their own associations, participants looked at the fundamental principles of a strategic vision for the whole region for 2011.

The Chairman, Africa Committee, Honorine Kiplagat says she is confident on the future of Girl Guiding in Africa following this seminar. "The Associations are becoming more aware of the need for good management."

The regional director, Africa Region, Alphonsine Kabagabo, congratulated the Association des Guides du Togo for hosting the seminar.

The Minister of Social and Women’s Affairs and the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Togo Government attended the opening ceremony and promised to continue supporting the development of Guiding in Togo.
